Morgan Truck Body, a leading North American manufacturer of light- and medium-duty truck bodies with about 2,400 team members across 14 manufacturing sites and eight service centers, faced falling engagement and inconsistent, homegrown recognition programs. With rapid hiring targets and turnover identified as the biggest barrier to growth, leadership needed a way to attract, engage, and retain frontline, largely offline workers and set a goal to reduce turnover by 20–30%.
Morgan partnered with Workhuman to launch a peer-to-peer Social Recognition program accessible via shop-floor tablets and a mobile app, tying recognition to company values and giving leaders behavioral insights through Workhuman Cloud and Award Advisor. Adoption accelerated (awards rose from ~1,540 in the first post-launch quarter to ~3,460 over the following three quarters) and measurable outcomes followed: recipients separated at just 6.3%, high-recognition sites show lower turnover and higher engagement, promotion rates exceed company average, and many sites saw year-over-year gains in productivity, safety, and quality.
