Version 1, a Dublin‑headquartered IT services firm, faced the challenge of preserving its productive workplace culture during rapid international expansion — growing from about 400 to more than 2,300 people and integrating 13 acquired companies across multiple markets. With hybrid work and geographically varied local recognition practices, leadership needed a consistent, scalable way to reinforce the behaviours that made the company successful.
In partnership with Workhuman, Version 1 launched CallOut, a fully digital global recognition platform built around six key behaviours, minimal approval thresholds, and integrated learning and onboarding. Strong leadership support, a network of champions and alignment with existing awards drove adoption: 87% of employees received an award in year one, the average employee received 4.9 rewards, 55% of staff gave recognition, and the company ranks in the top 25% of tech firms for recognition experience. CallOut also provides data insights to spotlight high performers and guide targeted coaching.
