Cardinal Health, a global healthcare services and products company with about 48,000 employees across 40+ countries, faced fragmented and low-impact employee recognition. A cash-based program reached only ~10% of the workforce (mainly in the U.S.), employees reported wanting more peer-to-peer and visible recognition, and many frontline distribution and manufacturing workers were excluded.
To address this, Cardinal Health partnered with Workhuman to launch Bravo, a values-aligned, social recognition platform with a mobile app, multilingual communications, and leadership support. Since launch there have been 150,000 recognition moments, reach has grown to 76% of employees, adoption rose from 10%, and recognition scores on the VOE increased by 3.4 points—along with measurable gains in engagement, inclusiveness, and manager effectiveness.
