Tübingen University Hospital achieves 5-minute whole-body PET/CT imaging with Siemens Healthineers

The customer, Tübingen University Hospital, needed to accurately stage a patient with suspected recurrent neuroendocrine tumor (NET) metastases using a PET/CT tracer that offered logistical advantages. The vendor, Siemens Healthineers, addressed this with a protocol utilizing their Biograph Vision Quadra PET/CT system and the novel fluorinated tracer 18F-SiFAlin-TATE.

Siemens Healthineers implemented a solution featuring a 5-minute, single-bed, whole-body PET/CT acquisition with a low tracer dose. This protocol on the Biograph Vision Quadra clearly delineated multiple liver and lymph node metastases, with the highest SUV reaching 32.7, and enabled quantification of total tumor burden. The results confirmed high somatostatin receptor density, indicating strong potential for successful subsequent radionuclide therapy.
