Preview of the Provision Diagnostic Imaging Case Study

Provision Diagnostic Imaging uses Siemens Healthineers Biograph Vision to detect 1.96 global SUVr amyloid burden in 50 minutes

The customer, Provision Diagnostic Imaging, faced the challenge of accurately assessing a 71-year-old male patient with memory loss and dementia to determine the presence of beta-amyloid plaques, which is a critical step in evaluating for Alzheimer's disease. Siemens Healthineers addressed this challenge through the use of their Biograph Vision PET/CT scanner and syngo.MI Neuro software for amyloid plaque quantification.

The solution implemented by Siemens Healthineers involved performing a beta-amyloid PET/CT scan, which revealed significantly increased amyloid deposition throughout the cerebral gray matter. The quantitative analysis provided by the syngo.MI software showed a high global SUVr of 1.96, which is well above the threshold for pathological amyloid levels. This result provided high diagnostic confidence, confirming the presence of amyloid plaques consistent with Alzheimer's disease and directly influencing patient management.
