New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center assesses 177Lu-PSMA-617 response with Siemens Healthineers in 15-minute SPECT/CT scans

New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center faced the challenge of monitoring therapy response in a patient with metastatic prostate cancer undergoing multiple cycles of 177Lu-PSMA-617 treatment. Siemens Healthineers provided a solution using their Symbia Intevo Bold SPECT/CT system with xSPECT Quant technology to perform fast, quantitative imaging.

The solution implemented by Siemens Healthineers enabled the hospital to conduct a 15-minute, multi-bed SPECT/CT scan after each treatment cycle. This allowed for precise therapy monitoring and quality control, confirming that the tumors were being irradiated as expected. The quantitative imaging demonstrated a progressive reduction in radiotracer uptake, clearly showing a positive treatment response correlated with a significant drop in the patient's prostate-specific antigen levels.
