Case Study: Hermes Pardini achieves higher lab efficiency and faster turnaround with Siemens Healthineers

A Siemens Healthineers Case Study

Preview of the Hermes Pardini SA Case Study

Hermes Pardini cuts tube touches by 77.5% with Siemens Healthineers

The customer, Hermes Pardini SA, a very high-volume reference laboratory in Brazil, faced the challenge of managing extreme daily testing volumes of over 260,000 tubes. To achieve greater operational excellence, the lab needed to reduce manual handling, decrease turnaround times, and improve overall efficiency in its core lab.

Siemens Healthineers implemented a comprehensive solution involving powerful diagnostics, laboratory IT, and total lab automation (TLA). The project re-designed the laboratory's workflow, combining multidisciplinary testing and automated sample preparation. This approach by Siemens Healthineers led to significant results, including a 77.5% reduction in tube touches, a 37.5% decrease in turnaround time, and a 34% reduction in repeat testing, while also increasing productivity and lowering water consumption.
