A HydroPoint Data Systems Case Study
Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD), a coastal central California school district with 26 schools, faced rising drought restrictions, high irrigation demand, and increasing water costs. More than 70% of the district’s water was going to irrigation, making conservation a critical priority. HydroPoint Data Systems provided the smart irrigation solution, using WeatherTRAK controllers to help the district better manage water use.
HydroPoint Data Systems installed 25 WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers across 14 sites, giving MPUSD remote access, alert monitoring, and faster programming changes without site visits. With flow sensors and master valves, the district could quickly detect leaks and shut off water when needed. The results included a 48% reduction in water consumption, 196 million gallons of water saved, and up to 57% water saved at one school.
