Shadow Canyon HOA and Earth Co Create Water-Wise Landscapes

Shadow Canyon Homeowners Association, a three-acre condominium community in Tustin Ranch, California, needed to cut high outdoor water use and improve the efficiency of its common-area landscapes. The HOA partnered with HydroPoint Data Systems and Earthco Commercial Landscape to address irrigation waste, runoff, and landscape performance challenges.

HydroPoint Data Systems implemented WeatherTRAK Smart Irrigation Controllers with centralized cloud-based control through WeatherTRAK Central. The project saved more than two million gallons of water in the first year, reduced outdoor water consumption by 435 percent, and helped finance part of the retrofit through local water agency rebates, while keeping the landscapes healthy and improving operational visibility and leak response.
