The solution from HydroPoint involved installing cloud-based, central control irrigation systems that automatically adjust watering schedules for weather conditions. This saved the city nearly one million gallons of water in 180 days, a 63% reduction, and cut the Parks Department's water bill in half. These significant savings helped Salem avoid or subsidize infrastructure costs and improved landscape maintenance efficiency, leading to plans for a broader rollout to local businesses and residents.
