FPA Multifamily, a vertically integrated real estate investment firm managing about 25,000 apartment buildings, needed a simpler way to maintain attractive landscapes across properties with very different climates and watering needs. To support property values while reducing operating costs, the company looked for better monitoring, reporting, and water management tools from HydroPoint Data Systems, using its WeatherTRAK smart irrigation solution.

HydroPoint Data Systems implemented WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers and turnkey monitoring across 44 properties, with centralized remote access, alerts, and training support. The result was significant water savings, including 54 million gallons saved in one year and one site cutting water bills by $22,000 in a year; FPA also expected an additional 37 million gallons in savings from more controllers, and planned to expand the solution to more acquisitions.
