Coast Landscaping Inc. worked with HydroPoint Data Systems to help The Terraces at Cantebria, a coastal HOA in Encinitas, California, address serious irrigation challenges caused by sloping terrain and proximity to the ocean. Poorly managed watering had led to storm drain pollution and runoff into the ocean, drawing criticism from the water district and the coastal commission.

HydroPoint Data Systems implemented WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers to improve water management and reduce runoff. The system cut annual water use from 11,355 units to 8,874 units, saving more than 1.8 million gallons and over 22% in outdoor water usage, while also eliminating runoff into the ocean and saving more than $4,000 despite higher water rates.
