Case Study: City of Boise saves water and man hours with HydroPoint Baseline smart irrigation

A HydroPoint Data Systems Case Study

City of Boise saves water and man hours across 55-acre Esther Simplot Park with HydroPoint

The City of Boise faced the challenge of managing water resources intelligently for the 55-acre Esther Simplot Park, a site bordering the Boise River containing ponds, trails, and grassy areas. To meet this challenge, the city worked with vendor HydroPoint and implemented their Baseline technology, including BaseStation irrigation controllers, a FlowStation, and soil moisture sensors.

HydroPoint's solution used soil moisture sensors to monitor pond levels and trigger pumps for filling, while also managing irrigation throughout the park's varied landscapes. Since implementing HydroPoint's products, which also included BaseManager central control and hydrometers, the City of Boise has achieved significant savings in both water use and man hours.
