Rock in Rio worked with Blip to create a new service channel for the 2017 festival, aiming to answer visitor questions in a fun, engaging way that matched the audience’s profile. The challenge was to support the massive event with a reliable, always-available experience that could handle thousands of messages and improve communication for people attending in person and watching on TV.
Blip implemented Roque, a chatbot on Facebook Messenger, to provide information about tickets, entrances, schedules, stages, setlists, food, entertainment, restroom lines, and festival updates, while also running quizzes and engagement campaigns. The solution exchanged more than 3 million messages with over 70,000 users, reached about 10,000 users in a single day, and delivered 3x more conversion than the event’s app, helping make the campaign one of the year’s top marketing efforts.
