Case Study: World Economic Forum achieves major international media coverage and targeted audience insights with Audiense

A Audiense Case Study

Preview of the World Economic Forum Case Study

How the World Economic Forum Uses Audiense to Get the Globe Talking

The World Economic Forum, a 45‑year‑old non‑profit that reaches millions on social media (over 2.8M Twitter followers), needed to understand who was shaping conversations about global issues and how its events and reports were being received. With high‑profile events like Davos and a diverse audience of leaders, the WEF’s challenge was to identify influencers and journalists, align content to what mattered, and improve outreach to secure informed coverage.

Using Audiense’s filtering, segmentation and audience‑insight tools, WEF built targeted lists of influential profiles and journalists and used the platform’s DM capabilities to engage them directly. The work revealed leading topics for research and editorial focus, improved journalist outreach when email failed, and helped secure coverage of major WEF reports in outlets such as the BBC, Bloomberg and CNN.
