Addressing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion with design and microlearning

Limerick School of Art and Design, one of Europe’s leading fine art, design, and creative media schools, wanted to embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion principles more effectively into its teaching. Lecturer Gianna Tasha Tomasso looked for an easy-to-use way to help MA Interdisciplinary Design students create inclusive, EDI-focused learning content, and chose 7taps Microlearning for the project.

Using 7taps Microlearning, students quickly created microlearning outputs on topics such as LGBTQ+ flags, allyship, campus resources, and accessibility challenges, then embedded them into creative artefacts with QR codes for display around campus. The solution was simple enough for even less tech-savvy students to use within minutes, and the 2022 cohort found it easy to master and enjoyable to use, helping reinforce inclusive design practices across the class.
