Customer earns LEED Gold rating & saves $150K in construction costs

Enlightened Energy helped Merritt Environmental, a new office tenant at the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge, find an efficient way to control its building without replacing all of the existing HVAC equipment. The customer needed a solution that would support a LEED Gold goal, stay within budget, be easy to use, and avoid proprietary programming or complicated maintenance. 75F’s Dynamic Airflow Balancing was selected to meet those needs.

Working with County Energy Controls, Enlightened Energy implemented 75F’s cloud-based Dynamic Airflow Balancing system to manage three rooftop units and eight zones while keeping the existing HVAC equipment in place. The result was an estimated $150,000 in construction and installation savings, plus a projected 30% reduction in HVAC energy costs compared with competitor options. The project also helped Merritt Environmental earn LEED Gold certification, with 75F contributing 32 certification points.
