Why Warner Bros. Discovery isn’t left in the dark ages with our DAM

Warner Bros. Discovery’s German free‑to‑air channel manages a high volume of programming—10–15 titles per day and over 500,000 image assets—but had been relying on a manual folder-based workflow. Metadata lived in separate programming software that couldn’t store images, so picture editors had to manually match, label and distribute images and text for program guides and platforms, a slow error‑prone process that led to duplicates and misplaced assets.

By integrating 4ALLPORTAL’s DAM with the programming system via a REST API and implementing a bespoke “Program” module, text metadata is automatically linked to the correct image folders and program IDs, and editors can assign categorized images (cover, top, additional assets) through a single interface. The result is centralized, transparent asset management, elimination of duplicate/incorrect images, and about a 30% reduction in workload for picture editors—significantly faster, less error‑prone workflows and a smoother digital distribution process.
