A 42Gears Case Study

Preview of the Instacom Case Study

Instacom, South Africa reduces device-support effort by half with help from 42Gears products

Instacom, a South Africa–based telecommunications company and pioneer of Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions, faced high support effort and costs because field devices given to blue-collar workers were frequently misused or had inadvertent setting changes (e.g., flight mode) that disabled services. To prevent misuse and enable central management, Instacom selected 42Gears products—SureLock for device lockdown and SureMDM for mobile device management and remote support.

42Gears implemented SureLock to restrict devices to authorized apps and password‑protect settings, and deployed SureMDM for monitoring, tracking, software distribution and remote control. 42Gears also added custom features to meet Instacom’s needs. As a result, Instacom can confidently sell solutions with a data plan included, eliminate excessive mobile bills from misuse, and has reduced support costs by more than 50% through remote troubleshooting with 42Gears.
