HomeMD Housecall Services Adapts to Pandemic Challenges with 42Gears Software

HomeMD Housecall Services, a Michigan-based healthcare firm that sends nurse practitioners and other medical professionals to patients’ homes, faced major challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. With many elderly, immunocompromised patients unable to use tablets for remote consultations and staff tablets at risk of distraction from games and social media, HomeMD needed a way to support telehealth safely and efficiently. To solve this, the company turned to 42Gears and its SureMDM and SureLock products.

42Gears helped HomeMD lock down Android tablets to only essential telehealth functions and remotely initiate conferencing on patient devices through SureMDM’s Remote Access feature. This reduced patient confusion, prevented misuse, improved staff focus, and enabled remote troubleshooting in most cases. As a result, HomeMD was able to continue care without interruption, expand tablet deployment, and triple its footprint during the pandemic while increasing market share and growing its company size.
