Case Study: JCB achieves major transport cost savings and improved dealer visibility with 3T Logistics' Global Carrier Manager

A 3T Logistics Case Study

Preview of the JCB Case Study

JCB benefit from 3T’s ‘extensive logistics knowledge’

JCB, the British construction-equipment manufacturer founded in 1945 with 18 factories and over 2,000 dealer depots worldwide, faced rising transport costs and a 40% drop in machine sales that made cost reduction a priority. JCB Service needed better visibility of shipping performance, audited carrier invoicing, accurate month-end reporting and an understanding of its carbon footprint to protect service levels (95% availability within 24 hours) while cutting costs.

3T implemented its Global Carrier Manager (GCM) in JCB’s European and World Parts Centres, integrating with order and warehouse systems, running a European carrier tender, automating invoicing audits, label/carrier integration and a dealer web portal for track-and-trace. The programme produced detailed management and CO2 reporting, delivered significant transport cost reductions, improved service and dealer visibility, and was rolled out from the EPC to the WPC as a scalable solution.
