A 3rd Coast PR Case Study
Thermos, a manufacturer of insulated drinkware, faced the challenge of communicating the threat of foodborne illness in children from improper sippy cup insulation and positioning their new product as the solution. They engaged the vendor, 3rd Coast PR, to help educate parents and the media about their Foogo line of stainless steel sippy cups.
3rd Coast PR commissioned a study with Cornell University to provide credible data, which confirmed that the Foogo cups significantly slowed bacteria growth. The vendor then executed a media campaign targeting parenting outlets and bloggers, positioning the product as a BPA-free solution. This strategy generated over 170 million media impressions, including placements on the TODAY Show and positive reviews on major parenting websites.
