Bemis Manufacturing, a global producer of molded consumer, medical and industrial products, relied on its Sheboygan Falls distribution hub to ship proprietary goods across North America. Its legacy scheduling approach required five people to manually evaluate carriers, LTL vs. TL routing, and numerous surcharges, leaving the company time‑consuming, inconsistent plans and unrealized savings—particularly around pool distribution and changing fuel/intermodal rates.
Bemis implemented the 3Gtms transportation management system to automate planning and optimize routes using real rate costs and many charge components, with a graphical interface for easy adjustments. The TMS delivers daily executable plans, reduced planning labor, better pool consolidation and lower distribution costs than competitors, and a test environment to evaluate carrier or rate changes—enabling tighter carrier management and measurable savings.
