Engie advances 50 MW wind portfolio with 3E

Engie, a major energy company, was working towards its ambitious goal of installing at least 500 MW of onshore wind capacity in Belgium by 2020 through its Wind4Flanders partnership. To help achieve this, Engie needed to secure financing for a portfolio of six new wind farms, a process that required a thorough technical review for its lenders. Engie engaged 3E to act as the Lender’s Technical Advisor to provide this crucial support.

3E performed a full-scope due diligence for the Wind4Flanders portfolio, which included validating energy yield figures, reviewing contracts, and providing technical assistance to validate the financial model. This work provided the lenders with the confidence needed to reach financial close. As a result, 3E helped enable the development of approximately 50 MW of new wind power, which was a significant step forward for Engie in reaching its 2020 renewable energy target.
