Trisa AG Uses Color Jet 3D Printing to Speed Stylish, High-performing Toothbrushes to Global Market

Trisa AG, one of Europe’s largest toothbrush manufacturers, faced a common consumer-goods challenge: getting style-sensitive, high-performing toothbrush designs to market faster. Traditional prototyping (milling or stereolithography) took days to a week, required painstaking hand-inserted bristles and painting, and slowed product development on a year-long cycle.

Trisa adopted 3D Systems’ Projet CJP full-color 3D printing to produce ready-to-evaluate prototypes directly from CAD. The new process yields prototypes in about a day (three times faster), cuts time and labor costs to roughly one-tenth, and has shaved about a month from development cycles—allowing more iterations, higher-quality designs, faster customer delivery, and stronger credibility with major toothbrush brands.
