A 3D Systems Case Study
Tilke GmbH, a German architecture firm renowned for designing Formula 1 circuits and related facilities worldwide, faced a costly and time-consuming challenge: accurately modeling complex track topography and detailed circuit buildings for client presentations. Traditional model-making made it hard to convey how structures sit in the landscape and limited the firm’s ability to iterate and pitch ambitious projects quickly.
Tilke solved this by adopting the Spectrum Z510 full‑colour 3D printer at its Aachen office, enabling fast, high‑fidelity colour models (printed in hours rather than days), detailed building parts, and large or multiple stacked builds from CAD data. The result: lower time and cost for model production, stronger client engagement through tangible 3D presentations, improved design evaluation, and new business opportunities thanks to quicker, higher‑quality concept delivery.
