A 3D Systems Case Study
Inverse Solutions, Inc., a Pleasanton, CA machine shop restarted by founder David Jordan, specializes in medical, semiconductor and electrical connector work and runs multi-axis Star Swiss machines and YCM verticals. The shop won an aerospace job with deceptively complex 6061‑T6 parts that required tight tolerances, flatness control and dozens of unique programs; programming with their existing CAD/CAM took about a week per part and would have made the production schedule impossible.
Jordan evaluated several CAM packages and selected GibbsCAM for its solid-model reading, intuitive workflow and strong distributor support. A single GibbsCAM seat plus hands‑on training from distributor John Shern got the team up to speed quickly; the software allowed programming directly from solids, produced G‑code far faster, handled the complex parts, and enabled Inverse Solutions to take on the full run. The result was successful production of the aerospace parts, satisfied customer orders, and capacity to pursue additional medical and precision work.
