Tailor-made Machines Get to Market Faster with MultiJet Printing

Dallan S.p.A., founded in 1978 in Treviso, Italy, designs and builds tailor-made production systems for precision rollforming and sheet metal products. Because each machine is unique, many delicate handling components (for example, picking clamps that must match the exact curvature of 300+ shutter models) were traditionally milled from solid plastic—an accurate but slow process that lengthened development and delayed time-to-market.

To speed customization and validation Dallan added a 3D Systems ProJet 3510, using 3D printing to produce final plastic parts and precise functional prototypes. Overnight printing of detailed brackets and sensor supports cut manufacturing time, enabled next-day assembly and successful testing, reduced reliance on milling, and expanded design freedom—accelerating time-to-market and allowing more versatile, specialized customer solutions.
