3D Systems supported St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children’s 4th Annual Pediatric Update: Heart Care for the Young, a virtual CME conference held during the COVID-19 pandemic. With live patients unavailable, planned sessions on neonatal, emergency/ICU, and fetal echocardiography were at risk of losing their hands‑on demonstration component.

3D Systems supplied the Simbionix Ultrasound Mentor simulator, which presenters used with Advanced Echo, Bedside Echo, and Fetal Echo modules to show clinician hand positioning and live-screen imaging. The simulator effectively replaced standardized patients, allowed demonstration of a wide range of pathologies and procedures in a safe virtual format, and preserved the instructional value of the affected sessions.
