Southend University Hospital Uses the ANGIO Mentor Suite Simulator for Hands-on Learning

3D Systems’ ANGIO Mentor Suite was adopted by Prof. Iris Grunwald to help Southend University Hospital and Anglia Ruskin University build an innovative interventional stroke service. The challenge was urgent: endovascular stroke treatment is time‑sensitive, involves multidisciplinary teams who don’t routinely work together, and is difficult to practice on real patients, while there is a shortage of trained interventionalists.

The solution was a Stroke Simulation Training Center using the ANGIO Mentor Suite and a 4‑day advanced team course that replicates realistic anatomy, procedure steps and triggered complications, with video review for debriefing. The program improved team coordination, communication and decision‑making, strengthened understanding of high‑risk procedures, and better prepared whole cath‑lab teams to deliver faster, safer endovascular stroke care.
