Sora Technology Corp. Transforms Photos into Highly Accurate Landscape Models with Full Color 3D Prints

Sora Technology Corporation is a Tokyo-based studio that converts aerial and satellite stereographic photography into precision 3D images, animations and virtual landscapes. While its VR fly-throughs conveyed depth, the firm faced a challenge: turning virtual 3D data into physical, tactile models that make a stronger, more intuitive impact on viewers than flat screens can.

Sora adopted the Spectrum Z®510 full‑color 3D printer to produce accurate, full‑color landscape models directly from its 3D data. The switch cut costs to about one-third of handcrafted models and reduced production time from weeks to hours, boosted comprehension and interactivity for clients, and helped grow the business—doubling work‑order value and generating high‑profile attention (for example, a large printed map of Pyongyang).
