SLA 3D Printed Electric Bike Panels are Born to Ride

Brammo, an Oregon start-up founded by Craig Bramscher, builds affordable 100% electric motorbikes and uses race bikes as a development platform for its street models. Facing intense time pressure to iterate designs for the Empulse RR, Brammo needed a faster, reliable way to produce durable bodywork and functional components, so the team partnered with 3D Systems’ parts service, 3Dproparts.

3Dproparts produced SLA fairings in Accura Xtreme, delivering a full body kit in about a week with a smooth finish ready for painting and direct mounting; the parts have since withstood race stresses and track debris. They also used SLS in DuraForm PA to make an air duct overnight and are exploring SLA connectors for production—results: weeks of lead-time saved, faster design iteration, and durable, production-capable components.
