RTsafe partners with 3D Systems to produce brain tissue models to help optimize radiotherapy

RTsafe, a radiation oncology company, faced challenges in creating precise, patient-specific models for quality assurance due to the limitations of traditional manufacturing methods. They partnered with 3D Systems to overcome these obstacles in developing their personalized brain tissue replicas.

3D Systems implemented a solution using their ProJet 3D printers and VisiJet and Accura materials to produce the PseudoPatient, a highly accurate anatomical model. This allowed medical teams to test radiotherapy treatments on a replica before applying them to the patient. The collaboration resulted in streamlined production with quicker turnaround times and the potential to reduce the 15-18% failure rate in brain radiosurgery audits.
