Case Study: TecNiq achieves production-quality 3D-printed lenses and faster product development with 3D Systems ProJet 6000

A 3D Systems Case Study

Preview of the TecNiq Case Study

Production-Quality Lenses Directly from SLA 3D Printing

TecNiq, a maker of LED lighting solutions, needed a faster, more reliable way to turn complex, computer-optimized designs into physical lenses and prototypes. Traditional direct-machining and tooling were time-consuming, introduced geometry distortion during polishing, and made it difficult to demonstrate final look, fit and performance to customers.

Installing a 3D Systems ProJet 6000 SLA printer (using VisiJet SL Clear plus a lacquer finish) let TecNiq produce production-quality, high-resolution lenses with sub-0.05 mm accuracy and faster turnaround. The machine simplified operations, reduced tooling errors and labor, enabled functional testing and customer sign-off (including parts meeting DOT specs), delivered measurable ROI, and created new service and business opportunities.
