On Demand Manufacturing Succeeds for AliMed

AliMed, a leading manufacturer of medical and ergonomic products that also develops its own line of devices, needed a single-source partner to develop components for the MultiBoot™ X‑Cel™ ankle support. The product’s diverse functional and aesthetic requirements demanded rapid prototyping through to quickturn injection molding, so AliMed turned to 3D Systems On Demand Manufacturing – Quickparts.

Quickparts used QuickQuote to provide instant quotes and produced multiple prototypes via SLA, PJP and QuickTool Express (QTX), then worked with AliMed through an Engineering Review Board to finalize tooling and deliver quick injection-molded parts. The MultiBoot X‑Cel launched in July, became a best seller in nursing homes, hospitals and OTC channels, and AliMed praised Quickparts’ responsiveness and fast issue resolution.
