Omron Develops Micro-Milling Techniques with Cimatron CAD/CAM software

Omron Micro, a precision-parts OEM serving digital electronics and mobile devices, faced shrinking component sizes and tighter lead times that demanded much higher accuracy and faster mold development. Their existing CAD/CAM setup could not reliably produce the micro-scale features or support their high-speed (50,000 rpm) machining needs.

They adopted Cimatron (NC, 3X‑MILL, DIE), whose superior Z‑axis control, toolpath optimization and template-driven CAM improved cutter-path quality and reduced setup errors. The result: faster, higher-quality molds with dramatically fewer mistakes, lower man-hours and costs, and the potential to produce high‑precision steel molds without EDM.
