Neal Feay Company - Customer Case Study

Neal Feay Company, a third-generation, family-owned contract manufacturer in Goleta, CA, produces high-end, jewelry-quality aluminum chassis and front panels for premium audio brands like Classe Audio, Dolby and Constellation Audio. The company’s challenge was to marry industrial design and cosmetic finishes with efficient production: complex, solid-machined forms demanded long CNC time and extensive hand polishing, which threatened competitiveness and throughput.

Neal Feay addressed this by integrating industrial design, in-house anodizing and advanced machining (laser, mills and a dual-pallet horizontal), adopting a SOLIDWORKS-to-GibbsCAM workflow and developing large, specialty cutting tools that form and finish parts in single passes. Using GibbsCAM’s SolidSurfacer and tombstone management plus trained in-house programmers, the shop cut machining and polishing time, improved surface quality, accelerated prototyping and production, and sustained its position serving top-tier customers while opening opportunities in new luxury-design markets.
