Loftgoods Delivers Faster Product with SLA Prototypes from 3D Systems

Loftgoods, a home-furnishings company, was racing to bring its new Rockit Pro gaming chair to market — a recliner-style chair with integrated subwoofers and speakers. With a tight deadline and a need for speaker covers that were both functional and visually unobtrusive, Loftgoods required accurate SLA prototypes quickly to finalize production.

They turned to 3D Systems’ On Demand Manufacturing service, Quickparts, which collaborated via a dedicated sales and project manager to deliver Waterclear (transparent) SLA covers. The parts arrived sooner than expected and matched the design requirements, allowing Loftgoods to finish production faster; the Rockit Pro was scheduled for market release in fall 2006, and Loftgoods planned to use Quickparts again.
