Ju Teng Shifts Design and Production to 3D Systems' Cimatron

Ju Teng International Holdings is a leading global producer of electronic casings—with about 40,000 employees across seven facilities and more than 30% share of the international notebook casing market—supplying tier‑one brands. The company faced intense time and cost pressure and high tooling complexity (around 25 molds per casing). Its use of separate CAD/CAM tools and 2D mold design created communication bottlenecks, late-discovered errors and even a dedicated department to repair machined‑mold mistakes.

After evaluating options, Ju Teng standardized on 3D Systems’ Cimatron to run full 3D CAD and CAM in a single system. Building on prior use for NC programming, the rollout grew to ~280 seats by 2010 and over 400 by 2013 across seven sites. The integrated workflow and analysis tools removed much trial‑and‑error, reduced errors, closed the mold‑repair department, streamlined collaboration and boosted productivity, supported by onsite training and vendor technical assistance.
