Inovus Medical Drives Affordable Products and Faster New Product Introductions With SLS Additive Manufacturing

Inovus Medical is a UK-based designer and manufacturer of affordable, realistic laparoscopic and hysteroscopic simulators founded in 2012. Growing from a bedroom prototype to customers in 67 countries, the company faced the prohibitive costs and risks of traditional injection molding—tooling, minimum order quantities, inventory and import duties—that threatened its mission to keep training equipment accessible and enable rapid design iteration.

Inovus brought SLS production in-house with a ProX SLS 6100 printer, DuraForm PA nylon material and 3D Sprint software, enabling rapid, production-grade parts without tooling or MOQs. The result: lower part costs, reduced economic risk, faster new-product cycles, lean on-demand inventory, continual design optimization, and an incubator-style service that helps other startups access SLS manufacturing.
