Full-color 3D Printing Helps Nordic Civil Engineering Giant Ramboll Extend Leadership

The Ramboll Group is a leading Nordic engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Copenhagen with roughly 4,000 employees. Facing aggressive competition for infrastructure, building and urban projects, Ramboll needed a more vivid, convincing way to convey design visions to prospective clients and to align large engineering teams—traditional blueprints and screen images weren’t delivering the impact required to win bids or ensure clear internal understanding.

Ramboll adopted full‑color 3D printing with a Spectrum Z510 to produce high‑definition, multi‑colored physical models directly from CAD files. The approach cut model costs to about one‑third of handmade alternatives, saved substantial production time, improved accuracy and team understanding, enabled effective remote presentations, and contributed to winning new projects and greater overall efficiency.
