EGR Gets Parts Made Quickly by Quickparts

EGR Automotive, a global OEM and aftermarket accessories manufacturer, needed to showcase several new, market-untested parts at SEMA 2013 but had only a few months to develop four custom vehicle kits and couldn’t justify the cost or lead time of traditional tooling for spoilers, bumper protectors and body‑kit components.

EGR used vehicle 3D scans, converted the data to CAD, and sent the files to 3D Systems’ Quickparts for SLA 3D printing; printed parts arrived in three weeks, were finished and fitted seamlessly. The prototypes looked and performed like production pieces, generated on‑site buyer interest and orders, and helped the Veloster earn a top‑10 SEMA pick — all without tooling and on a compressed schedule.
