A 3D Systems Case Study
Dometic Sanitation Corporation, a division of Dometic and a leading designer of onboard sanitation systems for marine and leisure markets, faced a large production run with a looming timeline when it discovered the flushing nozzle on its new portable toilet needed redesigning. With previous designs inadequate and the new part required to pass multiple production tests, Dometic needed fast, reliable prototypes to validate fit and function before committing to full production.
Dometic partnered with Quickparts, using QuickQuote and Next‑Day SLA prototyping to iterate quickly with Quickparts engineers. Rapid SLA prints allowed fit and form checks within days, followed by functional and cosmetic cast urethane prototypes that closely matched production material. The approach removed guesswork, met the tight schedule, reduced lead time, and delivered quality parts with responsive customer service.
