Denture Center - Customer Case Study

The Denture Center, a digital dentistry practice in Windsor, Ontario led by Eric Kukucka, responded to global shortages of N95 masks and ventilator components during COVID‑19 by exploring how their in‑house 3D printing expertise could help. Faced with strained hospital supplies, the team repurposed dental production capabilities to develop rapid, practical alternatives.

Using a 3D Systems Figure 4 (NextDent 5100) printer they prototyped N95-style masks and ventilator valves—producing about 20 masks a day—with the ability to create custom-fit designs from facial scans and potential for reusable plastic parts. Prototypes were delivered to Windsor Regional Hospital for evaluation and may require Health Canada approval before clinical use, but the initiative showcased effective, community-focused innovation.
