Dental Lab Halves Production Time for Removable Partial Dentures with 3D Systems’ 3D Printing Solutions

GPS Digital RPD, a Florida-based dental lab, specializes in high-quality partial frameworks and flexible partial dentures. As demand for removable partial dentures grew, the lab needed a faster, more reliable digital workflow to improve output and reduce turnaround times. To support this, GPS Digital RPD worked with 3D Systems and its 3D printing solutions, including the DMP Flex 200 metal printers and NextDent 300 multi-material printer.

With 3D Systems’ technology, GPS Digital RPD was able to streamline production from CAD data to finished parts, using 3D Sprint software for print preparation and digital labeling. The result was a major productivity boost: the lab now produces about 130 metal frameworks per day and can deliver the first finished RPD in as little as nine days, down from 15 working days previously. The company also reported improved fit, quality, and aesthetics, along with more efficient “lights out” production.
