Braskem Breaks into 3D Printing Materials Market with Help from Titan’s Large Format 3D Printer

Braskem, a global leader in polyolefins, launched an additive manufacturing materials division in 2020 to promote its growing range of recycled, bio‑based, polypropylene and polyethylene 3D printing pellets, filaments and powders. A key challenge was building brand awareness and educating customers and OEMs on the value and performance of these new materials in large‑format, end‑use applications.

To address this, Braskem purchased a Titan Robotics Atlas H2.5 large‑format 3D printer (two pellet extruders and one filament extruder) and partnered with Dive Design to produce high‑resolution showcase parts—such as a watertight paddleboard and custom off‑road SUV panels—with minimal post‑processing. The demos drove strong market traction: Braskem generated over 400 leads in three days at RAPID 2022 (more than the prior two years), attracted interest from brand owners, service bureaus and OEMs, and secured new prototype requests while moving toward its additive manufacturing revenue targets.
