Atlantis Components (Cambridge, MA) is a custom dental-products company addressing the persistent challenge of fitting implant abutments—an often time-consuming, costly and error-prone stage of restorative dentistry that can produce poor aesthetics and require many patient visits. Traditional one-size-fits-all abutments and the need to angle fixtures into limited bone made accurate, predictable fittings difficult for dentists and uncomfortable for patients.

Atlantis adopted 3D Systems’ Geomagic Wrap to scan dental casts, generate accurate surface models, and feed them into CAD/CAM workflows to design patient-specific Permanent Healing Abutments. The digital, template-driven process produces anatomically exact abutments with minimal adjustment, enabling faster treatment (reducing visits from about 10 to 3–5), saving clinicians months of time on some cases, and allowing roughly 1,000 dentists to deliver more natural-looking implants at lower cost.
