Antenna Maker Tunes in to GibbsCAM

R.A. Miller Industries (RAMI), a long‑standing antenna manufacturer serving military (75%), automotive and aviation markets, faced a capacity and complexity problem: many military parts required multiple turning and milling operations across several machines, lengthy manual/CNC programming, and tight floor space. High‑volume contracts and parts that previously took 25 minutes and multiple setups were causing delivery delays and forced the shop to outsource work.

RAMI bought an Okuma MacTurn 250 and implemented Autodesk Inventor plus GibbsCAM (MTM and 5‑Axis), using features like Profiler, Sync Manager and Cut Part Rendering to simplify programming, synchronize turrets/spindles and prevent collisions. The change cut machining time from 25 to 6 minutes, freed about 75% of the labor previously needed for those parts, paid for the equipment and software in under a year, and enabled untended 10–12 hour runs to meet a 3,000‑unit/month military contract while speeding programming across the shop.
