Metal Technology (MTI), an Oregon-based metal manufacturer with 40+ years of experience serving aerospace, defense, nuclear and medical customers, needed to streamline its direct metal printing (DMP) workflows for highly complex parts and specialized materials like nickel superalloys and tantalum. MTI was challenged to reduce production time and cost while avoiding data-transfer errors and enabling single-piece designs (for example, a valve with intricate internal passages) that improve quality and longevity compared with traditionally welded assemblies.
