3D Systems’ EXT Titan Pellet Printers Help Model No. Redefine Sustainable High-End Furniture

Model No. Furniture needed a way to create high-end, custom furniture locally and sustainably, while avoiding the speed and material limitations of traditional filament 3D printers. Working with vendor 3D Systems, the company explored large-format additive manufacturing to support its on-demand production model and use custom, bio-based materials made from waste streams like sawdust.

3D Systems’ EXT 1070 Titan Pellet printers gave Model No. the speed, material flexibility, and scale needed to turn salvaged wood and plant-based waste into regenerative, recyclable furniture components. With three printers running almost continuously, Model No. now produces to order, reduces inventory and waste, and maintains faster turnaround times, with standard lead times of about 8 weeks and larger orders around 12 weeks.
